Art safaris capture our rhinos!

People from all around the world, as well as from the local area, come and spend time with our rhinos. They are celebrities, posing for photos and videos, sometimes mid-wallow, or while they graze...sometimes they don't even bother to wake up for the camera!

Some groups spend time with the rhinos a little bit differently - looking at their every detail (as much as possible!) and taking the time to try to put on paper not only what they look like, but also capture their energy.

One group visited in 2025 with Alison Nicholls who has been leading Art Safaris for Africa Geographic since 2011. These safaris allow guests to experience the African bush in a unique, almost suspended-in-time, kind of way. Alison's group shared some of their sketches of the rhinos.
