Ngamo Clinic has been one of the Community Rhino Conservation Initiative's most important projects - a real representation of what wildlife can do for local development...and a little insight into what the Initiative's rhinos have managed to accomplish since May 2022!

While Ngamo Clinic became operational in September 2022 (read more about this here ), the Clinic's second wing was not yet built. Over the last three years we've gradually been working on finishing it, but only recently, with the extra support from our Australian friends at Sidinda Clinic Pvt have we been able to fast-track its construction. On 4 December 2025, it was finally ready...just in time for our mobile dental and eye care clinic at Ngamo as part of the Smile and See programme. On that day, 63 dental patients were treated, 159 optometry patients were seen and 464 children received fluoride applications. The patient waiting area was used by our optometry team and some of the other rooms were used for storage and specific patient consultation. The nurses were delighted to see the Clinic in full use, and the new wing in action. With more space, there are now more opportunities for the staff to make good use of all their equipment and supplies. Ngamo Clinic has become an amazing resource for the local communities and the nurses are championing its success, ensuring patients have the best care they can.

Thank you to all partners and friends who have made the Ngamo Clinic what it is today, as well as the team on the ground who work tirelessly to promote the health of the local people.
